About Rhodolite Garnet:

Garnet is derived from the word "grain" which refers to the rounded shape of garnet resembling the seeds of a pomegranate. It is one of the harder gemstones and Rhodolite garnet is typically a dark shade of purple-red. Garnets have been known for thousands of years and were worn for protection in ancient times, as they were thought to ward off evil. Garnet is the birthstone for those born in January.

About Freshwater Pearls:

Freshwater pearls cover a wider range of colors and shapes than any other pearl type and they tend to be less expensive than saltwater pearls, making them very popular. Also, because freshwater pearls are solid nacre, they are also quite durable, resisting chipping, wear, and degeneration.
Throughout history, the pearl has been highly prized and sought after. In ancient Rome, pearls were considered the ultimate symbol of wealth and social standing. The Greeks held the pearl in high esteem for itís unrivaled beauty and association with love and marriage.
Pearls are the official birthstone for the month of June, and cultured freshwater pearls are considered to offer the power of love, money, protection and luck. They are thought to give wisdom and cement engagements and love relationships.
